Recess may have been the only good part of ABC’s One Saturday Morning but the best part of the show was the Hustler Kid.
Yes, the Hustler kid. The recess repo-man, the playtime pimp, the drug pusher of the fourth grade. The fact that the makers of this show thought it prudent to add a childhood character that reminds grown-ups of their own pushers of illegal pleasures not only makes this character so flipping lifelike, but also loveable.
Down to his fake 1930’s New York accent.
Rad.
Hustler Kid was the person I wished I could have been on the playground, instead I was more like Swing Girl…but that’s a whole ‘nother story.
Never noticed how much T.J. looks like Ralphie from The Magic Schoolbus, and how much Randall looks like Moe Szslack of Simpsons fame. Also, let us not forget Pepper Anne when daydreaming about One Saturday Morning
